Confused?Which toothpaste to buy!

Most of us, when we arrive at the toothpaste section of the supermarket or at the grocery store, we tend to get lost and confused, as to which brand to actually choose? We casually lay our hands on brands such as Colgate , Pepsodent , Close-up , etc. There is indeed a wide selection of toothpastes which are being marketed, making such a decision difficult for the general public to choose the right toothpaste for themselves. One should, therefore, ruminate over the role of this simple but yet very important tube in taking care of one’s oral health. Thus, the main question that needs to be addressed would be if toothpastes are merely a substance to be scrubbed with when using toothbrush and the answer would be certainly NO. There is more to it than we can imagine. Besides performing cleaning action, it has therapeutic effects as well. I f you are amongst those who brush their teeth right after waking up, after dinner or after every meal and wonder what is the actual time to brush your teeth, then you are at a right place to find your answer. Plaque is a sticky white film that is formed on our teeth and contains bacteria. Any sugary food that we eat is acted upon by the bacteria producing acid that attack the protective layer of our teeth i.e., the enamel and leads to its breakdown causing cavities. Therefore one should always brush to loosen the plaque and wash away food debris and acid from the surface of our teeth.            Take care of your toothbrush too!!   ·         Replace toothbrushes every 3-4 months or if bristles are visibly frayed or soiled. ·         Wash your hands with antibacterial soap before you brush your teeth or otherwise germs may get transferred to the brush from hand. ·         Toothbrushes should never be shared as it can cause exchange of body fluids and microorganisms. ·         Rinse the toothbrush thoroughly preferably with warm water after each use to remove any debris.
