Take
care of your toothbrush too!!

Replace
toothbrushes every 3-4 months or if bristles are visibly frayed or soiled.
·
Wash
your hands with antibacterial soap before you brush your teeth or otherwise
germs may get transferred to the brush from hand.
·
Toothbrushes should never be shared as it can cause exchange of body fluids and
microorganisms.
·
Rinse
the toothbrush thoroughly preferably with warm water after each use to remove
any debris. Squeeze the bristles to extract most of the water.
·
Toothbrushes
should not touch any other toothbrushes to minimize bacterial exposure,
·
Store
tooth brushes in an upright position after use or otherwise water flows down
the tooth brush bristles and collect at the bottom of the bristles, moisture is
maintained creating environment conducive to bacterial growth.

Allow
them to air dry after use.
·
ADA (American Dental Association) recommends soaking a toothbrush in antibacterial mouthwash for about 15
minutes.
·
CDC (Centers for disease control and prevention) advises against usage of dish washer, microwave or UV cleaners.
·
Don’t
store a moist tooth brush in a closed container. It can promote microbial
growth.
Protective device can be placed only when brush is completely dry and
while travelling.
·
Tooth
brushes have been shown to harbor bacteria including coliform bacteria that can
be released when the toilet is flushed. Therefore, they should be placed
several feet away from toilet.
